As discussed in the February 2021 annual meeting, Google Groups has proven to be a hit or miss communication tool.

One of my action items from the meeting was to find and implement improved communication venues for the club to use. Most important among these is a reliable means of issuing club-wide notices that will not end up with the original message buried under replies.

Scott Black suggested checking out groups.io as a potential tool since RCSD is apparently using that. I will look into that and see if it is a good replacement for Google Groups.

The forums off of loft-rc.org are now active. All active members have a loft-rc.org User ID now and can contribute to the forums. To log in to loft-rc.org so you can use the forums, scroll all the way to the bottom of any loft-rc.org web page and click the “log in” link. After you log in, you will be able to submit and reply to forum discussions.

I also want to look at resurrecting the “tow lines” newsletter, most likely as a monthly publication we can share with other modelers outside the club.

Irv and Ken have been set up as Authors for loft-rc.org. This means that they can post blog entries that will show up on the main page if they like.

What other ideas for communication tools should we investigate?
